JFF Plus: Online Festival 2020

If you are following me on Instagram, you might have seen my stories about a Japanese film festival press briefing. I was talking about JFF Plus: Online Festival. Are you familiar with EIGASAI? In my old blog, I would always mention the Japanese film festival. I remember lining up at Shangri-La Plaza almost every year (I could not attend all the time because of my work hours). But last year the said festival has already bid farewell, or rather sayonara. And this year, the Japan Foundation Manila (JFM) has decided to go online. With the COVID-19 pandemic, streaming a selection of films than screening in movie theatres is the best move.

Thoughts on Dr. Cutie (2020)

What a long synopsis, right? It is from; however, I did a little tweaking. Still, I feel that is enough for everyone to understand the story. Though it looks complicated at first glance, it is a lighthearted drama. It took me a while to get over the last Chinese drama I watched. In the time since her family’s death, she has trained to become …

It is a Chinese television series adapted from the BL xianxia novel Mo Dao Zu Shi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, starring Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. Yes, I am rewatching as in watching it for the second time. Side note: Xianxia is a genre of Chinese fantasy influenced by Chinese mythology, Taoism, Buddhism, Chinese martial arts, traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese folk religion and other traditional Chinese elements. Wait. I think I heard something. Why is she rewatching the series? Is it for the sake of the review? Did she forget all about the series? I admit I don’t have a great memory; however, it has nothing to do with that. The reason I decided to hit play after finishing the series on September 25 is that I could not forget the TV series; not to mention, the music and the beauty of Lotus Pier and the Cloud Recesses. I can still see and feel the characters …
