Thoughts on Dr. Cutie (2020)

What a long synopsis, right? It is from Viki.com; however, I did a little tweaking. Still, I feel that is enough for everyone to understand the story. Though it looks complicated at first glance, it is a lighthearted drama. It took me a while to get over the last Chinese drama I watched. I honestly haven’t gotten over it yet but at least I was able to find a lighthearted series to keep me company. Side note: Xianxia is a genre of Chinese fantasy influenced by Chinese mythology, Taoism, Buddhism, Chinese martial arts, traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese folk religion and other traditional Chinese elements. Wikipidea.com Wait. I think I heard something. Why is she rewatching the series? Is it for the sake of the review? Did she forget all about the series? I admit I don’t have a great memory; however, it has nothing to do with that. The reason I decided to hit play after finishing the series on September 25 is that I could not forget the TV series; not to mention, the music and the beauty of Lotus Pier and the Cloud Recesses. I can still see and feel the characters …

The Slums | #Cinemalaya2020 Film Review

SYNOPSIS: The Slums is a mockumentary that follows a documentary team as they terrorize a poor family living in the urban slums of Manila. The film features the colourful lives of the Reyes family: Nayda, the family’s loving mother with body image issues; Julio, the hardworking but not very bright father; Oliver, the fabulous son who wants to be a supermodel; Boy, the youngest and naughtiest child; and Pam, the feisty eldest child of the family.
