Thoughts on Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

So there has been a disturbance in the Force. Thus, allowing a limited early release of the final episode of the nine-part “Skywalker saga” this Star Wars Weekend which runs from December 20 to 22. Growing up watching the saga, I went to the cinema to watch it on the first day. There is no need to worry. Like what I did with Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), this one is spoiler-free. 🙂

Thoughts on Mikhail Red’s Eerie (2019)

Are you familiar with Mikhail Red’s works? He is the director of the award-winning film Birdshot (2016) which he co-wrote with Rae Red. The coming-of-age thriller is his sophomore feature and won awards such as the CJ Entertainment Award at the Asian Project Market Awards during the 20th Busan International Film Festival as well as the Best Asian Future Film Award at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival. It’s also worth mentioning that Birdshot is the first Filipino film released worldwide by Netflix.

Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin (2019) Keeps the Spirit of the Original Disney Movie to an Extent

I was elated when the teaser for the Disney classic Aladdin was released. But when the trailer featuring Will Smith’s genie dropped, I got scared. You see when I was in grade school, my grandparents made me watch a classic film every Saturday night and there was this one film that stuck. It is called “The Thief of Bagdad” (1940), a remake of “The Thief of Bagdad” (1924). Don’t get me wrong. This is a magical film and if I’m not mistaken Disney’s Aladdin was influenced by it; however, the Djinn played by Rex Ingram gave me nightmares. Seeing a blue Will Smith, reminded me of that BUT it did not stop me from watching my ultimate favourite Disney film and animated television series.

Spoiler-Free Thoughts on Avengers: Endgame

Have you seen Avengers: Endgame? How are you holding up? I had to write down my feelings, I mean appreciation. If you’re interested, it’s titled To the Biggest Cinematic Saga Ever Told. However, in this post, I will be sharing with you my thoughts on the 22nd film in The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) also known as the final entry in The Infinity Saga. Same with my Thoughts on Avengers: Infinity War, this will also be spoiler-free. 😉

See The Bigger Picture: Captain Marvel Jumps Right in Action

Ah, Marvel Studios’ latest film in The Infinity Saga! Some say it’s underwhelming and I see their point. But you also have to see the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. Based on Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), most of the mightiest superheroes have fallen. This means that the last solo superhero film before we reach the end game will have a different approach.
