Birthed from her coronavirus scare experience, startup founder Trisha Garcia came up with the startling idea to organize a virtual party where people can conveniently socialize with others from the comfort of their own homes, but in a lively set-up. “I encountered a traumatizing health scare. I had a close friend who was in the ICU for almost a month and that worried me in several ways. I was out and about running errands the week before I heard about his health condition. And even when we didn’t personally see each other – the moment he caught the virus, I, too, thought I had it. His situation affected me negatively.” Read More

Quick Thoughts on Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018)

Let’s change things up a bit. This time I’ll share with you my rating for this film. I give Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018) a solid 10/10.

Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018)

Comedy, Horror | 12 July 2018 (Taiwan)
Director & Writer: Kuan-Hui Lin

Three youngsters meet by accident at a mysterious hot springs hotel. There, they fall into an unforgettable adventure. It starts scary but soon turns funny when they have to try and save a family. – IMDb

Qie Xiaogin and his friends explore his family’s hot springs hotel, which seems to be haunted. His grandparents also seem to be hiding something – will the boys ever discover the truth behind the hotel? – Warner Bros Singapore

First, I’m not entirely sure why in some websites the summary states that “Three youngsters meet by accident at a mysterious hot springs hotel”. Based on the story, our three young male leads met in school. Two of those boys, Lu Qun and Little Princess are getting bullied in school while Xiao Gin the one with the blonde hair is a new student who accidentally saves them.

By the way, that is not Xiao Gin’s first school. He has been having some problems that are hindering him from moving forward – both in school and life. But something happened that gave him enough courage to confront it. He decides to return to the hotel founded by his late parents which are currently run by his grandparents. On his way, the two classmates he saved Lu Qun and Little Princess follows and joins him.

Now that it’s clear let me explain why I gave this a perfect score. Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018) is not an ambitious film. It knows what it is and thus, successfully executed and presented both the comedy and the horror elements without pretensions.

I’m sure you’ve seen comedy horror films that lean more on comedy and isn’t scary at all. There are also films of the same genre that doesn’t give justice to the comedy part. With Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018), you will truly get both the comedy and the horror of the story. And in the end, you will also receive a heartwarming story that completes the film experience.

You can catch Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018) on Netflix.

Happy viewing!

UNBOXING & Quick Look: Samsung Galaxy A11

We’ve been a Globe subscriber for years with the Globe At Home as the first service we availed. Then after a few months, we received a call and was offered a postpaid plan. Back then, the most affordable one was Plan 499. This postpaid plan came with a phone and a tablet.

But those were the days. If I’m not mistaken, the lowest now is Plan 599 that usually only comes with a phone. And since the time to renew our plan came, we decided to avail Plan 799 and chose the Samsung Galaxy A11 FREE cash out.

Take note that this is just a quick look at the new Samsung Galaxy A11. Give me time to use the device fully and give my thoughts. Read More

Surprising Sweet Treats (Food Review)

You’ll never know when will a great blessing will come knocking to you. I come across an online concert on Facebook a month before where to my wonder it had a raffle. I hope and pray that I will win while I was choosing which prizes I like to have.

After several weeks when someone told me I won, no prize came. I let it go because it’s no big deal. But last Friday there’s something that happened.
