Lunch at Sisig Society in Calle Bistro, Quezon City’s New Lifestyle Strip

Have you been to Calle Bistro? I’ve been hearing about the place from my fellow Northerners but was only able to visit it a month ago. What is Calle Bistro, you ask?

Well, Calle means “street” in Spanish and Venetian. This street is located at the side of Ever Gotesco Mall on Commonwealth Avenue. It is the mall’s lifestyle strip where they feature a series of cafes and restaurants. So whether you’re in search for a place to enjoy a lovely meal, snack or coffee, you’ll definitely find the perfect spot here.

Together with my abuelita and tio, we visited Calle Bistro to enjoy a lovely Sunday lunch. It might be quite difficult to choose which restaurant but if you have a dish in mind it’s going to be easy. In our case, we wanted sisig so the perfect place is Sisig Society.

Btw, have you heard of SISIG LIP BALM? It’s weird, right? But I dig it because it confuses your senses which is fun for me. Anyway, Sisig Society released this for a limited time on April 1. No, I’m not joking. They really did give it away. The promo ran from April 01 to 03, 2019, promise!

Anyway, it has two signature flavours, one of which is the Spicy Chicken. Each swipe contains a taste of chicken, caramelized onion, chicharon and Sisig Society’s secret sauce. 💋 Sisig Lip Balm, a taste of sisig in a swipe (formulated to meet beauty standards!) 😘 It smells good, tastes good, and moisturises your lips well.

Moving on, Sisig Society started serving this Pinoy favourite Sisig (a specialty dish using pork cheeks, head meat and liver broiled, diced then sauteed and served sizzling) in March 2015. Though their specialty is sisig, they do offer other dishes like Inihaw na Liempo, Sizzling Gambas, Crispy Kare-Kare, and Bangus Belly.

But since it was our first time dining at Sisig Society, we decided to get two sisig plates: Sarsa Pork Sisig and Classic Pork Sisig plus a chicken basket. Take note, their sisig plates come with unli rice and sinigang soup!

So how was the food?

It was deliciously satisfying! I like the Classic Pork Sisig better though but we are interested in trying the Bacon & Cheese Chicken Sisig as well as the Crispy Kare-Kare and Bulalo. It’s worth mentioning that the sisig meals which comes with unli rice and sinigang soup plus the ambience of this branch made our dining experience great.

Want to visit Sisig Society? They now have various branches in the metro as well as in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Ilocos Norte and General Santos City but this branch is located at Calle Bistro, Ground Floor, Ever Gotesco Mall, Commonwealth Avenue, Old Balara, Quezon City.
