Red Panda, a premier restaurant that offers Chinese and live seafood dishes has branches in Greenhills San Juan, Kapitolyo Pasig, Visayas Avenue Quezon City and Dasmarinas Cavite. The nearest one would be the Visayas Avenue branch.
Though I’ve seen the restaurant and pass by it almost every day, I was only able to dine here a few weeks ago with my family. I was surprised to see that the front wasn’t the same as before. The plants and walkway were quite unkempt. I wasn’t bothered by it because I’m not the type who judges a book by its cover. BUT it would be great to fix those because it is a restaurant after all. Moreover, the restaurant interior and dining area are quite nice. It was a 180-degree switch from the outside. The place is cosy, clean, well-lighted and spacious. There are also different types of sitting arrangements. There are booths on the left side, a long table at the centre and on the side plus some round tables near the bar.
For the food, Red Panda offers a wide range of dishes perfect for sharing as well as dim sum and Shabu Shabu Hotpot that will certainly satisfy your tummies. Since there were only a few of us, we tried the following:
Asparagus Oyster Sauce
Chinese Cold Cuts Platter
Cucumber Lemonade and Red Panda Iced Tea
All the dishes were great but my favourite would be the Beancurd Roll, Chinese Cold Cuts Platter and Cucumber Lemonade. The dim sum classic Beancurd Roll is soft, juicy and stuffed with a delicious meat filling. The Chinese Cold Cuts Platter was also a perfect choice. Since it has five different choices, each person has something that would please their taste buds. I, of course enjoyed all of them. For drinks, I suggest going for the refreshing Cucumber Lemonade. If that’s too tangy for you, the Red Panda Iced Tea is a good choice.
Our overall Red Panda experience was okay. Will I visit them again? Of course. But I still hope they fix the front for safety reasons.
