As mentioned on our previous blog post, Congo Grille is set beside their sister company – TEMPURA Japanese Grill. The Japanese restaurant is known for Manila’s Best Tempura. But it does not end there because they also offer modern Japanese food that are are worth every peso.
Earlier today, I was able to visit their newest branch at Visayas Avenue. Like Congo Grille, the Japanese restaurant also maximized their space. The chairs and tables are neatly-aligned giving enough path for the staff and diners. The place is also clean, well-lighted and ventilated. Their staff are courteous and attentive making our first visit a good one.
But what made it even better is TEMPURA Japanese Grill’s Sushi Boats. There are actually three types to choose from. If you love sushi, the vinegared rice mixed with slices of raw fish and other ingredients, go for the Sushi Boat. For Php 420, you get Tamago Sushi, Salmon Sushi, Tuna Sushi, Ebi Sushi, and Kani Sushi
If you prefer Sashimi which is thethinly sliced raw meat – usually salmon or tuna without rice, the Sashimi Boat is for you. It costs Php 580 which includes Tamago Sashimi, Tuna Sashimi, Kani Sashimi, Salmon Sashimi, and Ebi Sashimi
AND if you want the best of both worlds, Mixed Boat is the deal. For Php 650, you get to enjoy the following: California Maki, Tamago Sushi, Salmon Sashimi, Tuna Sashimi, Tuna Sushi, Salmon Sushi, Ebi Sushi, Kani Sushi, and Dynamite Ebi Roll.
As much as I wanted to try the Mixed Boat, I opted for the Sushi Boat. Mainly because it’s perfect for two. (Well, I can finish it all but I love to share.) And considering the variety included in each boat plus the preparation, you definitely get your money’s worth. I guess it all comes down to what you prefer and how many people are going to eat.
