Do you remember Pink Wasabi, a shop that offers sweet, hand-rolled cakes resembling sushi which was a hit during the Best Food Forward way back in 2011? Well, I do. Actually, I never forgot it. I fell in love with this unique creation introduced by Chef Anna Chua.

Anyway, the Pink Wasabi brand is under Sweet Fusion Manila Inc. In 2015, the company created a new brand called Pastry Armoire to showcase their other creations such as baked premium empanadas, personalized cakes and sticky buns.
Pastry Armoire is supplying cakes and pastries to their retail partner stores in BF Homes, Makati, Mandaluyong, Cubao, and Maginhawa. Their bestsellers are apple walnut cake, glazed chocolate cake and salted caramel opera cake. Come 2017, they applied for an FDA license so they can offer their high-quality cakes and pastries to groceries and supermarkets.
Fast forward to May of this year, Pastry Armoire launched their newest product – premium ensaymadas which comes in six assorted flavours.

Blogger Clari: There are three flavours I enjoyed. The first is Aged Parmesan Ensaymada. This one gives you all the classic flavours. Topping it off with some grated-aged parmesan cheese is a bonus point. The second one was a surprise. Think about it – salted egg with dulce de leche? It sounded weird but the flavours blended and worked quite well. Last is the Smoked Bacon Ensaymada. Honestly, I don’t like bacon and I didn’t think it goes well with ensaymada. I was wrong. They are a match made in heaven.
Co-blogger Jean: After hearing about Pink Wasabi from Clari, I was not surprised with Pastry Armoire’s premium ensaymadas. It’s premium because it’s above other ensaymadas. Yes, they should be soft but they should also be packed inside. Pastry Armoire did that and levelled it up with their unique toppings. My favourite would be the Queso de Bola Ensaymada. My daughter and son enjoyed the Salted Egg Dulce de Leche.
