On the first Monday of October, I went to Little Baguio in San Juan City because I had some urgent matters to attend to. It’s been a while since my last visit but this small city is still the same great city.
San Juan features several food establishments. Whether you love Chinese, Japanese, Filipino or Western food, you’ll definitely find a restaurant at Wilson Street. If that’s not enough, head over to the city’s shopping mecca – Greenhills Shopping Center (GSC). This place is also a great entertainment and dining destination.
That is why after the “urgent matter”, I decided to take a short stroll at GSC with my family and eat lunch. We parked at Connecticut Carpark and on the ground floor are a number of restaurants one of which is my all-time fave Omakase. But we left home early and did not get a chance to have breakfast so we opted for RACKS.
Real American Country Kitchen Style
RACKS first opened its doors in 1992 at Makati CBD. Since then, whenever you crave for baby back ribs, the restaurant comes to mind. It’s the ultimate rib destination!
So for this visit we did order one but first some soup – Homestyle Mushroom Soup and Clam Chowder. The first one is creamy and flavorful with croutons on top while the latter is a bit thicker but delicious with a hint of bacon. It doesn’t have croutons but is served with everyone’s fave garlic bread.
My grandmother loves a light and healthy meal. So we ordered the Prosciutto Di Parma Salad for her. RACKS’ salad are always made with fresh ingredients. But this type we haven’t tasted yet.
The Prosciutto Di Parma Salad is made of fresh veggies and Italian dry-cured ham . Though light, it’s quite delish making a perfectly balanced meal.
Since it was a Monday, my ninong tried RACKS’ Classic Mondays! Savor the all-time favorite Classic Pork Ribs served with your choice of 2 regular side dishes. Ah! The pork ribs are indeed tender and juicy; not to mention, reasonably priced . If you want to try this, make sure to take advantage of their Classic Mondays as it will only cost you P295.00.
Me? Well, I ordered their Oktoberfest special! I saw their poster on the way in and had my heart set on it. RACKS offers 4 flavours of their house-made Sausages – Hungarian, Louisiana Hot Links, Garlic & Cheese and Chorizo.
There are two choices for this special.
- Sausage Plate – You can choose 2 sausages paired with German Potato Salad and sauerkraut sidings.
- Sausage Platter – This is also served with German Potato Salad and sauerkraut sidings but with all 4 sausages.
Whichever you choose, you can gobble it down with a glass of German brew, Kaiser Pils. But I don’t drink so I opted for a Sausage Plate – Hungarian and Louisiana Hot Links – and gobbled it down with some bottomless coke. 🙂
Still a great and delicious Oktoberfest experience! 😀
