The 4th Harana sa Dapit Hapon Features Asia’s Queen of Songs

Feel the soothing rhythm of traditional Filipino love songs once again. At Harana sa Dapit Hapon, you’ll witness notable classical singers perform unforgettable love songs, balitaw, danza, harana and kundimans by great Filipino composers.

Sopranos Gloria Coronel and Liza Cabahug, and tenor Lemuel dela Cruz alongside violinist Gilopez Kabayao and pianist Corazon Kabayao with their daughters, violinists Sicilienne and Farida Kabayao already took the stage of the first afternoon musicale last March 11.

Following them are performances from soprano Liza Cabahug, tenor Lemuel dela Cruz with pianist Augusto Espino, and the Kabataang Gitarista last April 8.

On June 10, it was sopranos Sweet Samaniego-Buchanan and Margarita Roco, tenors Juan Paulo Azul and Andrei Reyes, violinist Jimmy Tagala Jr., pianist Corazon Pineda Kabayao and pianist Kim Dominik Sarmiento’s turn to deliver the immortal kundimans, balitaw, danza, harana and unforgettable love songs we longed to hear.

Following the list of distinguished classical performers is Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales. Join her as she takes the stage alongside pop-classical singer Miguel Castro on July 29, 2015 at the Bulwagang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater Lobby) at 4:30pm.

Invite your family, friends, and students for an afternoon filled with songs and music that are uniquely Filipino. The afternoon musicale is free to the general public.

Harana sa Dapit Hapon is presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Tribung Pilipino Foundation headed by Danny Dolor. Succeeding shows will be held on September 9, October 7, and December 9. For details, contact the CCP at 832-1125 local 1600 or 832-2314.
