Imagine yourself in an open space. No boundaries, nothing.
What would you do?
If I have the talent and courage, I would play the guitar to fill the void of that open space. Since I don’t have it, I would just get my phone, turn up the volume, and fill the air with music. If you have the talent and strong passion for something beautiful like music, have the courage to busk and get your music heard at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
Inspired by street performers found in different cities of Europe and the United States, BGC Impromptu provides a free stage for various street performers and musicians. Whether you’re a dancer, juggler, mime, painter, poet, or a singer, you have your own space to showcase your talent.
Finding your audience may not be easy but taking advantage of that space can lead to opportunities. Take Kina Grannis as an example. She has passion for wonderful music and took a huge step to get her music heard.
Do you know her?
Kina Grannis is a talented singer-songwriter who sings sweet, melancholy, and hope-filled songs. From busking on the streets to performing for millions of people LIVE and on YouTube, the once shy and self-proclaimed-awkward songstress has come out of her shell. She now has millions of listeners and albums to be proud of.
If you’re an aspiring musician, you have to find that open space like Kina Grannis. Also take the advice of Meredith Brooks, the multi-platinum recording artist known for her 1997 hit song “Bitch”.
“Find your authentic voice, become vulnerable, and then put yourself out there.”
It may be through social media or on video-sharing websites such as YouTube and Vimeo. You can even use online audio distribution platforms like SoundCloud. Better yet, find a huge avenue like these talented musicians at the BGC Impromptu.
