Trailer and Cast

The highly anticipated film trailer was released on January 29th 2014. That was just two weeks ago and the response was massive with a total of 10,904,969 views (and counting). The netizens’ reactions were mixed but very positive. While many are looking forward to the release, there are some who are in a hurry to read the book.

The Fault in Our Stars book is written by John Green and the film is directed by Josh Boone. By the way, the movie features Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster and Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters. They are the two main characters that will inspire and give us a heart-felt story about life, love, family, friends and cancer.

The rest of the cast is Nat Wolff as Isaac, Mike Birbiglia as Patrick, Willem Dafoe as Peter Van Houten, Sam Trammell as Mr Lancaster, Laura Dern as Mrs Lancaster, David Whalen as Mr Waters, Milica Govich as Mrs Waters and Lotte Verbeek as Lidewij Vliegenthart (Van Houten’s Assistant). Of course, the support group where Hazel and Gus’ story started was played by real teen cancer survivors. 🙂

The Music

Aside from the book and the film adaptation, people also look forward to the soundtrack. As I was searching about the final list of soundtracks, I stumbled upon “The Fault in Our Stars” song by Troye Sivan.

He read the book and was touched by it which inspired him to write a song. He recorded and produced it in his bedroom and posted it to Tumblr. It received ten thousand notes 100 thousand plays. Due to the positive response, he filmed the music video at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

When I first heard his song, I was deeply touched and I cried. Though I’ve seen and heard it many times, the effect is still the same. I just hope they use. It would be nice to hear it play on the big screen. Anyway, I really have a big expectation for the movie. I just know that this is the perfect film adaptation ever. The Fault in Our Stars will be released on June 6th and I hope that’s worldwide!
