When we visited Wilcon Depot at the Wilcon City Center in Visayas Avenue early last year, we saw a new restaurant near the building’s activity area. It’s called Syudad by Barrio Fiesta. Yes, the restaurant that has been offering festive Filipino cuisine for more than 50 years.
During that time, Wilcon City Center was undergoing renovations so we didn’t bother dining in. Fast forward to December 2017, we were able to experience Syudad by Barrio Fiesta.
The restaurant isn’t that big but has plenty of space for customers. The place is also clean and well-ventilated. The staff are attentive and friendly as well. They won’t hesitate to assist you in any way they can. When it comes to food, Syudad won’t disappoint!
Syudad by Barrio Fiesta offers a simple menu from pancit to sari-saring inihaw as well as beef, chicken, pork, vegetable and seafood dishes. Since they’re related to Barrio Fiesta, they also offer Cirspy Pata, Kare-Kare, and Mama Chit’s Specials, a feast in a bilao as how Mama Chit would prepare!
What really caught our attention is the restaurant’s affordable solo meals. Sometimes meals like this aren’t great because the serving is not enough. Ordering two to three dishes in the menu would be better. But since we are a bunch with different tastes and wants, we opted for the solo meals.
Boy oh boy, that was a great decision! Syudad by Barrio Fiesta’s solo meals won’t burn a hole in your pocket. It will keep your taste buds happy. So far we have tried Sinigang na Baboy, Binagoongang Baboy and Chicken BBQ.
Their Fresh Lumpiang Gulay is good, too! By the way, do you love Filipino merienda? Syudad by Barrio Fiesta offers Merienda All-You-Can from 3pm 6pm. We at www.ClariSays.com haven’t tried it yet, but we plan to.
