Diliman is one destination that I always consider when looking for a cafe or restaurant. This is a great place to explore because it features several dining spots. Although there is always something new, the place I’m going to share in this post has been around for a few years.
The Porch by Casa Verde opened its gates on November 2013. It serves both traditional and new American dishes like Buffalo Wings, Southwest Egg Rolls, USDA Beef Tenderloin Tips & Eggs and many more.
If you love pasta and burger, they have those as well. Their best seller would be Victoria’s Secret Spaghetti and The Porch Burger that has everything on it! But if you’re with some friends or family, you should consider The Big Bang. Nope, not the K-Pop superstars! This is their 9-inch burger topped with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, mayo and American cheese on a sesame seed bun.
Though I was there with my family, we opted for Peter’s Pork Steak, Tenderloin Tips & Eggs and Brian’s Ribs.
Brian’s Ribs is baked pork ribs in sweet, tangy piquet sauce served with rice and corn & carrots. This is their best seller and I understand why. It’s very flavorful leaving you satisfied.
Peter’s Pork Steak is lightly-seasoned grilled pork steak with vegetable medley and harvest rice. Though this is not a best seller, I enjoyed Peter’s Pork Steak because it’s not only flavorful but tender as well. I would love to have this one again.
Tenderloin Tips & Eggs is made of USDA beef tenderloin marinated in a sweet and tangy sauce with two eggs (which can be an sunny-side up or omelet) and rice. This dish is tasty; unfortunately, it wasn’t that tender.
Besides these, we also got to try their Chicken Quesadillas which is flour tortillas stuffed with tender spicy fajita chicken, onions, tomato and cheese. This is served with their homemade salsa and sour cream. While waiting for your meal, make sure you have the Chicken Quesadillas. They didn’t skimp on the filling making it delicious even without the salsa and sour cream.
Will I come back at The Porch? Definitely! The Porch is basically a house and it’s gives out a positive homey-ambiance perfect for any occasion. Also, I would love to try their pasta, burgers, desserts especially the Milky Way. This is a large chocolate-y shake that looks oh-so divine!
