First off, I am not going to teach you how to bake a focaccia bread. Maybe in the future I might show you how. For now, let’s concentrate with the leftover focaccia bread sitting on top of our dining table.
I honestly love bread – ciabatta, roti or just a simple toast. If I have to pick one, it would be focaccia bread. It’s a flat oven-baked Italian bread that is similar in style and texture to pizza doughs. The good thing about this bread is it can be topped with just about anything. Check focaccia on Pinterest or on Instagram and you’ll be surprised with the topping ideas that will surely make this bread even more delicious.
For my version though, I used what’s currently available in the kitchen starting with the classic way – butter. You can eat it as is or dip it hot coffee! Trust me, it’s delish!
Besides butter, here are three more tasty ways to top your focaccia bread.
Butter and Parsley
Simply melt the butter and mix in the chopped parsley. Spread the mixture and dip in your focaccia bread. You have the option to just heat the bread or make is crispier on the side.
Butter with Garlic, Oregano and Basil
Mix in some grated garlic and a dash of oregano and basil on melted butter. Again spread the mixture and dip the bread. With this one, you have a choice to cook the garlic until crisp before dipping in the bread. The toasted garlic just gives out more flavor and texture.
Creamy Spinach Dip
You can say, I’m cheating on this one. But we’ve had this Creamy Spinach Dip early this week which means this can be considered in the “what’s currently available in the kitchen”. For this one, you can cut your bread lengthwise or make it into a sandwich. Again, it’s up to you.
There you have it – three simple but tasty ways to top your focaccia bread. Now you don’t have to worry about leftover focaccia or the bread going stale. Also, I’m pretty sure you can think of more ways with what you already have in your kitchen. Try this at home and have fun. Make sure to share it with your family and friends!
