Work is never easy; however, it can be fun and rewarding. Yes, I know it’s difficult because stress and hassle always get in the way. But with the right mindset this is achievable.
Think about it carefully. Stress and hassle are part of our lives. Everyone has their own episode and sometimes theirs is worse than ours. If we want to lessen stress and avoid hassles, that would be our responsibility.
In this post, I will be sharing how I make my worklife easier. Before that, you should know that I work from home. No, I am not a freelancer. I work for a marketing company which is in a different timezone. We have a schedule to follow and are monitored.
Now, it doesn’t matter if I’m not a freelancer or don’t go to the office. The main thing is we all experience worklife problems. We just have different scenarios and stress levels.
1. Start the day right.
Since my work begins at exactly 6AM and ends at 3PM, I see to it that I have enough sleep so that I can wake up early. It takes an hour and half for me to prepare which includes exercising, cooking, eating, and bathing.
Doing these things before work is a must because it helps me focus. Plus, I have asthma so I need to do some deep breathing exercises and stretching in the morning. Then I cook a simple breakfast – fried rice, eggs/ ham/ tuyo (whatever is available) or toasted bread with my favorite Jacob’s Peanut Praline Butter in Matcha.
After a hearty meal, I take my daily vitamins one of which is FERN-C. This is the first non-acidic Vitamin C in the country and is the only Quali-C Vitamin C made from Europe.
Indeed, this vitamin is tried and test or “Subok Na!”. Since I take it daily, worklife became easier for me (“Worklife ay Easy with FERN-C!”). I have the proper nutrients and energy needed to start my day.
2. Work and leave on time.
I hate working overtime. I bet you do, too. So let me tell you this. When you start your day right, chances are you will be able to work on time. Use your time wisely and get things done. Once you do, you’ll never have to leave work late or in my case log out.
3. Don’t hesitate. Just do it.
Working on time and leaving on time is good. Just make sure you did your part. To ensure you get things done, do the tasks that should and can be done today without hesitation.
If it’s not for today, make sure to add it in your Google Calendar and planner. I think this is more organized and clean than using those cute and colorful post-it notes (which I really love) because the Google Calendar gives notifications and you probably always check your planner.
4. Listen to music.
While working, it’s always nice to have some background music. So don’t be afraid to download Spotify and go premium. This digital music service has several songs from various artists around the globe. They even have playlists which are perfect for certain activities. Let’s say you want to focus. They have a playlist just for that.
But if you want free music, there’s always Jango but never YouTube. It is a video-sharing website and it would be tempting to just watch the video than listen to it. So, no on the latter.
5. Take your breaks seriously.
If you are tired, don’t be shy to take a break. Breaks were given to us for a reason. So take them seriously and use it wisely.
We have a 15 minute break in the morning and in the afternoon plus a one hour lunch break. I use my 15 minute-break to stretch my muscles, eat merienda, watch TV or have a YouTube break. For lunch break, I leave my desk to eat a proper lunch.
And that is how I make my worklife easier. To be honest, it didn’t start right. I thought that working from home is going to be easy. I was wrong. So I slowly worked on the schedule and trained my body. Now, I don’t even need an alarm to wake up early. 🙂
Thank you for reading and I hope you find this post helpful. Happy working! 🙂
