Back in college when a friend celebrates her birthday, we always chip in and buy her a delicious cake from Banapple. Since our school is in Katipunan, going there is not a problem. We’ve bought cakes there for countless of times but the taste is still delicious, enticing and distinctive.
However, it’s been a long while since my last visit. I got excited when I heard they opened a store in SM North EDSA at the Skygarden area. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to visit it due to tight schedule and long queue.
Banapple Pies & Cheesecakes has become very famous. Teens, young adults, adults as well as seniors enjoy their food resulting to a jam-packed café. Finally, last Christmas I was able to have a special lunch with my abuela (grandmother) and ninong.
As mentioned, it is located at the Skygarden in SM North EDSA. Let’s say you’re coming from The Block on the second floor and you’re standing at the activity center where they hold the mass and where they display all their Christmas decorations. Just look for the exit going to Skygarden and take that path. On the right, you’ll see Banapple Pies & Cheesecakes.
Now that you know where it is, let’s find out where they got their name.
According to their Facebook page, Banapple got its name from their two best sellers Banoffee Pie, and Apple Caramel Crumble. Well isn’t that clever and delicious?!
I’ve tasted a few of their cakes and pies. It’s really delicious and distinctive. When you taste one, you’ll know that it’s from Banapple. But last Christmas, we ordered the following for lunch.
The prices are fine with me because of the delicious food and ample serving. Indeed, you get what you pay for. Another thing I love about Banapple is their café ambiance. The colors are warm and relaxing. It feels like home.
The only problem I have is the tables. I hate round tables but I was surprised I had enough space to move around. However, if you have a large family let’s say 5-10 it will be uncomfortable. Of course, you want to be close with your family or companions when you eat there. So you will need a bigger round table with enough space for all.
Other than that, I’m very happy with my first dine in at Banapple Pies & Cheesecakes. If you haven’t tried eating there, please do give it a try. They have various branches in Metro Manila. For more info, visit: http://www.banapplekitchen.com/
